ONIT Sciences has signed an agreement with Nigeria-based distributor Finjake Global Ventures Nig. Ltd. to distribute, market and sell ONIT products.
To kick off the relationship, Finjake has introduced ONIT Sciences to The Fieldberg Farms Project, a Nigeria-Canada Agro-Industrial Project. ONIT products will be used to optimize performance of crops for this food security project via Finjake, which will eventually cover 6 geographical zones of the country and commission in excess of 10,420 hectars (25,748 acres) of farmland.
“ONIT Sciences products are a perfect fit for both Finjake’s product offerings and for The Fieldberg Farms Project,” noted Okechukwu Akubuo, Finjake’s CEO. “ONIT products offer a viable organic, natural and healthy alternative to chemical farming protocols, which are rapidly being phased out in Nigeria and neighboring countries. Our goal is to be the leading provider of agricultural biostimulants in the region, with ONIT Sciences as our flagship product line.”
Finjake is focused on large-scale farming and animal production, and will feature ONIT Sciences’ products as premium biostimulant inputs to its customers. The company currently produces crops for local consumption and export, including rice, maize (corn), and premium cassava flour. All Finjake products are guaranteed to be certified by NAFDAC (National Agency for Food and Drug Administration Commission) and CFIA (Canadian Food Inspection Agency) respectively. Additionally, Finjake has a corporate social responsibility mandate to provide training for field operators as part of their value chain development program.
“We are extremely proud to be represented in Nigeria by Finjake Global and participate in the Fieldberg Farms project,” stated ONIT Sciences’ president, Jeff Moses. “This relationship will provide large-scale crop production of key crops to a country desparately in need of improved agricultural practices. ONIT products will ensure increased yield, improved pest resistance and optimization of water usage for this project, which also provides expertise, jobs and economic benefit to communities.”
