ONIT Sciences recently made a huge splash at Agroexpo, one of the largest event of its kind in South America and the Caribbean, resulting in numerous letters of interest from major distributors and requests for sample product from dozens of farm operators. This enormous 40-year-old agricultural fair is held every other year and allows producers of agricultural products to meet farmers, applicators and regulators to discuss new products, trends and opportunities.
From July 13 to the 23rd in Bogotá, ONIT Science’s distributor MGX Global hosted an ONIT-themed booth at the show, which was manned by key members of the MGX team and ONIT’s Chief Science Officer, Eric Mathur.
“This show was extremely positive for ONIT Sciences,” stated ONIT’s Eric Mathur. “There appears to be great need and opportunity for ONIT products in Colombia, where the bio-stimulant market is undeveloped. I met and with over 50 farm groups and individuals representing farms ranging in size from 5 to 500,000 hectare covering most of Colombia’s major crops including oil palm, coffee, cut flowers, banana, avocado, sugar cane, pineapple and cocoa. Many of these received sample product at the show and have requested follow up from MGX.”
Of the 500+ exhibitors, ONIT Grow™ was the only biostimulant product in show and received incredible interest from both prospective end-users, as well as distributors working throughout the South American territories. Since the show, MGX has received four letters of interest from distributors representing over 680,000 hectres (1,680,316 acres) of fruit, coffee, soybeans, corn and rice production in Colombia.
“The Agroexpo was the perfect place to showcase our partnership with ONIT Sciences in South America,” noted Moe Negrin, founder of MGX Global. “There is tremendous opportunity in this region, given ONIT’s proven effectiveness on the crops grown here, as well as the appetite from government officials to help farmers adopt healthier, organic protocols that also increase yield, plant health and disease resistance. We are currently working on expediting registration with ICA so we can begin to process some of the orders generated by the show.”
